Dr. Sunday Okonji, FCA, FNIMN Chief Financial Officer Dr. Sunday Okonji is a highly accomplished finance, audit, compliance, and strategic management professional with over 26 years of progressive experience across banking, oil and gas, audit, accounting, economics, investments, and corporate administration. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Network Oil & Gas Limited and Head of Audit and Compliance at Shafnet Exploration and Production Limited. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, an MBA from Delta State University, Abraka, an MSc in Economics from the University of Benin, an LLB from the National Open University of Nigeria, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delta State University, Abraka. He also holds OND and HND qualifications in Marketing from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti. Dr. Okonji is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria. He is also a member of the Nigerian Economic Society. As Chief Financial Officer of Network Oil & Gas Limited, Dr. Okonji oversees the financial operations of the company, its subsidiaries, and associated interests. Before joining Network Oil & Gas Limited, he had a successful banking career spanning over 12 years, beginning as a Resident Auditor with Diamond Bank and rising to Acting Regional Manager, Control, at Keystone Bank Limited. As a seasoned forensic accountant, he contributed to the detection of several fraud cases and the recovery of millions of naira, earning executive commendation in 2017. Dr. Okonji is a result-oriented administrator, entrepreneur, and strategic leader with strong expertise in revenue assurance, internal control, cost management, compliance, and financial stewardship. He currently sits on the boards of several companies across diverse business and investment interests. He is also a committed philanthropist whose contributions to human capital development, community service, and nation-building have earned him several recognitions, including a humanitarian service award in 2018.
